The Italian School

Another strong feature of the Louvre collections, the Italian paintings are exhibited in Denon Wing; the Salon Carré, the Salle des Etats and the Grande Galerie. With around 800 works on show, they form an ensemble which offers a chronological journey through the history of Italian art. Within the Grand Louvre Project, these areas will be undergoing fundamental reorganisation over the next two years.
