The Spanish and English Schools

The Spanish and English schools are also represented in the museum's collections. The English school did not enjoy truly rapid development until the XVIIIth century, and the works in the collection have only been exhibited in the museum since around 1900. The Louvre has a limited, although representative, collection of works from the Spanish school, including el Greco, Zurbarán and Ribera.
