In the exhibition series "Le Tableau du mois" (the Painting of the Month), proposed by the Paintings Department of the Louvre Museum, The Astronomer (Louvre Museum) and The Geographer (Städelsches Kunstintstitut, Frankfurt) are reunited at the Louvre Museum for the first time in two centuries. This presentation precedes a more comprehensive exhibition that will take place at the museum Städelsches Kunstintstitut in Frankfurt from the of 15th May until 13th July 1997.
