Exchange students are usually interested in participating in special community projects and/or community service. Below some of the special projects developed at PUC-Rio.

- Integrated Social Development Centre Vargem Grande, RJ (care to 170 underserved children);
- Quilombo Capoeira Nago - Favela Acari, RJ;
Construction of Containment Wall Hill and Environmental Education Project - Favela Rio das Pedras, the studied area, RJ; - Regularization of Housing Slums of Alto da Boa Vista (Tijuaçu, Fazendinha and Furnas), RJ;
- Translation of Social Reporting Project at the Center for the Study of Social Exclusion;
- Foreign Language Class in Pre-Entrance Examination for Blacks and Needy - various locations.

Network for Social Entrepreneurship at PUC-Rio (RESPUC)
The Network for Social Entrepreneurship at PUC-Rio brings together the projects created, developed and maintained at the University, or by members of their community.
PUC-Rio aims through developing and promoting this network to further support their nuclei and their social initiatives, understanding that by helping these enterprises, contributes to building a more dignified, humane and fraternal society.

CCESP - Coordenação Central de Estágios e Serviços Profissionais (Internship Central Coordination Office)
PUC-Rio encourages the integration of students in the labor market, in the best possible condition. CCESP is the unit in charge of disseminating internship offers, trainee programs and jobs, as well as promoting activities to connect graduates with companies.

BRICS Policy Center
The BRICS Policy Center / Center for Studies and Research BRICS is a joint initiative of the City Hall of Rio de Janeiro City and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). This center is dedicated to the study of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and other middle powers.
BRICS Policy Center offers an internship program especially for international students from PUC-Rio.
