Special activities for international students
With the objective of providing our International students with a variety of enriching activities during their stay in Rio de Janeiro, a number of special services are offered including the following activities, among others:
- Welcome at the airport and airport pick-up (on specified dates)
These services are provided at the International Airport only - Orientation week
- Online Portuguese placement test
- Assistance with the Federal Police registration (Immigration)
- Welcome lunch
- Tourist/cultural activities
- City tour of Rio de Janeiro
- Field trip, Welcome reception
- Farewell cocktail with live Brazilian music
- Assistance throughout the academic term - personal & academic
- Buddy System "Brother Carioca" - to Integrate international students and PUC-Rio students.

These services cover not only social activities and orientation sessions but also and mainly online registration for classes, cultural adaptation class is in order to bridge their transition, safety plan and emergency phone number available 24/7, psychologist assistance, student access to the First Aid Center on campus, student Id card, access to the computer lab and up to 100 prints for free, access to the gym etc.
We encourage students to participate in our activities, parties and field trip once they are part of the social life in Rio and on PUC-Rio campus.
